Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Transcriptr at transcriptr.nl (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The service

Transcriptr is an online tool that converts audio and video into text using automated speech recognition. We offer a free tier with daily usage limits, which may change over time. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

2. Accounts

Some features require you to sign in with Google. You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your account secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to use the Service under applicable law (at least 16 years old).

3. Acceptable use

When using Transcriptr, you agree that you will not:

4. Your content

You retain all ownership of the files you upload and the transcripts you generate (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited licence to process Your Content solely to provide the Service to you (for example, transcribing it and storing your transcripts). You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the right to upload it.

5. Accuracy of transcripts

Transcription is performed by automated systems and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Transcripts are provided for convenience and should not be relied upon where accuracy is critical without independent review. You are responsible for checking any transcript before relying on it.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content (excluding Your Content), is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our permission.

7. Service availability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. We may suspend, limit, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Transcriptr and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the competent courts of the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.
